Santa Sessions Extended!

Santa sessions have been extended. Santa will be in our studio Saturday December 8th and Saturday December 15th.

Your child will delight in visiting with our Santa.  No lines to stand in at the mall and your child will receive individualized attention.  Each session last approximately 1 hour. Bring a wrapped gift for your child and Santa will give it to them.  Watch your child's face light up with the magic of Santa.

Fees for this session are $69.95 +tax and include a complimentary 5x7 image.  The session fee is payable at time of booking.  You may change your child's outfit as many times as you like within the hour session.

Kouture Kids members- you may use this set as one of your sessions but there are no images given.

Day At The Shore Held Over

Due to popular demand, Day At The Shore has been held over.   This custom set comes complete with 500 lbs of sand, seashells, boats, seagulls, and a giant seashell or adroindack chair for your child to sit in and enjoy their own private beach.  We have custom sailor outfits for girls and boys.  Sizes are limited so verify sizing when you book this session.

We are offering this set Friday, August 31st and Saturday, September 1st.  Appointment times are limited so call our studio at 904-704-7071 today to reserve your space!

Time For A New Family Portrait?

The weather outside is hot, hot, hot!  But your family is in need of a new portrait.  No worries.. we can do your session in our fully airconditioned studio with any of our numerous backdrops.  We are running a studio special until Sept.15th on family portraits.  Your family will have a stunning portrait created at a fraction of our normal pricing.  Your session and an 8x10 portrait is now $175.00.  That is over half off from our regular pricing.  Like the weather, this deal is hot, hot, hot!  Want a portrait created outside.. no problem we can do that also.  Session fee is payable in advance and tax is added to final price.

WHAT COMES NEXT????

After you are hoarse from screaming "I'm ENGAGED!!!" and telling all your family and friends; here are a few steps to take next:

• Insure your ring.  You will need an appraisal for this.  Generally your ring can be put on your renters or homeowners policy.
• Create a "Wedding Binder".  This will help keep you organized as you begin your planning.  Place your to-do-list, inspirations, etc in here.  You will want to have tabs for all the vendors that you meet with.  Be sure to make one for The Wedding & Portrait Photographers for you definately want to meet with us!
• Establish a budget.  Once you have established a budget, list what services are most important to you.  For example, if photography is very important to you then you will want to allocate more of your budget here than to cake.
• Set your wedding date.  
• Decide on a venue. If you want a specific venue then it's availability will probabley determine your wedding date.   
• Start meeting with vendors.  Once you have a date then your vendors will be able to reserve your date.  We suggest that you meet with the vendors in order of importance to you.  We also strongly suggest that you like the personality of the vendors you choose.  You will be working closely with them on your wedding day and you will want to like who you are working with.  Even if their products are superior, if there is a personality conflict, we suggest you look to another vendor.
• Most importantly...enjoy this special time in your life.  Planning a wedding is fun and exciting.  If you need help with anything we are here for you.  Just give us a call.

My Apologies.....

Tara & David's Beach Engagement Session

There will be no portrait photos in this post. This letter wasn’t mailed – it was at my doorstep when I got home a couple months ago. I read it, I cried, and read it again – probably a hundred times by now. It wasn’t easy to read – and honestly, as much as it validates what I do for a living – I wasn’t sure I was going to share it either – Until today, when a past client said that my print prices were too expensive. If you choose to read through the letter, you will know why I’ve finally chosen to share it.

Today I am writing for a couple of reasons. I have some quiet time at the moment and need to get a couple of things off my mind. I will leave this for my husband to deliver to you when he is ready.

You photographed my wedding, you photographed my first pregnancy and my first baby. I contacted you awhile back to photograph my 2nd child and family. After getting prices and realizing I would want all of the pictures as we love your work – I decided against spending $500+ – which is what I normally spend for portraits and prints with you.. Please know it is not because I don’t value your amazing eye, or how much we love the experience.

That week that I decided to NOT do a session with you, this is how I spent some money.
On Sunday I called and cancelled our session. Monday I went out and got my hair cut ($39+tip), and colored ($65), Thursday I had my nails done ($24), my family went out to dinner at a somewhat expensive restaurant for no particular reason costing us $79 + tip. This was just 4 days since canceling our session, already totaling over $200 for un necessary things. My nails only lasted about 2 weeks, my hair is gone, and seven weeks passed when I got the phone call from our doctor. It was not something I expected and the cancer has spread very quickly. I will be leaving my husband, my 6 year old girl and my now 2 year old – not by choice. It is very hard for me to talk about it which is why I need to write you.

I watch your Facebook page and your posts about the value of a photo and if I could give back all of those things that I purchased this few weeks after I cancelled my session with you, knowing what I know now, and have that session, well… I would do it in a heartbeat.

Now my time is done and there are no more chances for me. The next time someone cancels a session – my wish is that you forward this letter to them. Time is fragile, it is gone before you know you had it. If you charged $200 for one print it wouldn’t be enough for what it is actually worth. I cringe to think that my priorities were a manicure over a memory to pass onto my babies and husband.

My love and thanks for what you have given us from past photos. I am so sorry that I did not see it as more than paper until now.
